After another really long period off we get the final episode of RevPro TV from this Cockpit taping. I believe going forward the company is going to release the Cockpit shows in full instead of cutting them up for episodes of TV, so this is the last episode ever.
Jonny Storm vs. Jody Fleisch
We start off with the two veterans of the British Indie scene squaring off against each other. These two had a solid enough high flying exhibition, although obviously nowhere near the level of their classic matches. Jody is clearly a little more able to fly around than Johnny, but Storm never looked out of place. This would be perfect as an opening match on any card in the world. Jody pins Jonny with the 720 DDT *** ¼
We get highlights from the Will Ospreay/Marty Scurll/AJ Styles match from York Hall before the next match.
After that we get a promo from Ospreay from Sittingbourne. He talks about wanting the Heavyweight title but not getting a lot of wins recently, and how he is going to the Cruiserweight division to help make that title equal to the heavyweight title again. The title match is made for Summer Sizzler.
Sha Samuels vs. Charlie Garrett
This was a total showcase for Garrett, who I don’t think I’ve seen much of but really impressed me. He has a total white meat babyface look to him, and is deceptively athletic for his size. I don’t like Sha in the ring but he filled his role perfectly here. Garrett pins Samuels ** ¾
After the match, James Castle attacks Garrett only for Joel Redman to come out and make the save. After that the Legion of Lords, Bruce and Jake McCluskey, and Jonny and Jody also come out and we get a big brawl ending with Jonny and Jody standing tall in the ring.
This was an okay episode from a match point of view, probably the weakest of the season so far, but it looks like we’ve set up a Cruiserweight title match and some kind of tag fray so it did its job as an episode of TV.
