Growing up professional wrestling was always a part of my life. My older brother was a WWF fan during the peak of the New Generation era of the mid-1990’s all the way until the end of the Monday Night Wars in 2001, so wrestling was always on in the house. Being born in 1994 meant that I missed out on a lot of the things my brother was watching and only have vague recollections of (it was during this period that Kane became my favourite wrestler and I still hold a special place for The Big Red Machine), but there was one match that I remember fondly; Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels in an Unsanctioned Street Fight at Summerslam 2002. This was also the Summerslam where Brock Lesnar defeated The Rock for the Undisputed WWE Championship and the rest of the card featured Kurt Angle vs. Rey Mysterio, Ric Flair vs. Chris Jericho, and Rob Van Dam vs. Chris Benoit, but to my 8 year old brain the only match that occurred that night was Shawn and Hunter. I had never seen anything so brutal in my life, these guys were bleeding buckets and hated each other so much that I thought they might try and kill eachother. I had never seen Shawn Michaels wrestle before and was completely blown away by his athleticism, I despised Triple H for betraying his best friend and was desperate for Shawn to get his revenge. That was the night I truly fell in love with professional wrestling and thirteen years later I am still here.
The idea behind this site is to be a place where I review wrestling shows that I have watched and generally write about the art of pro-wrestling. This isn’t going to become another site that copy and pastes all the latest news from The Observer, nor will it become another RAW recap site. This is going to be a site that spotlights lesser talked about shows and wrestlers as well as some of the bigger companies out there. If you’re a fan of wrestling, and let’s be honest if you’ve read this far you probably are, then this is the site for you.
